Creating a Segment

Creating new Segments allows you to target a specific portion of your subscriber base for later use in things like Campaigns. Creating a Segment is easy:

How to create a Segment

  1. Click “Segments” from the left-hand menu
  2. Click “Create Segment”
  3. Enter a descriptive Segment name. Only you will see this segment name.
  4. Add Segment Filters in order to narrow down your Subscriber base for this Segment. For example, you can select “Only Subscribers who have ever clicked Automation X”.
  5. Click “Save” in the top right.

Segment Filters

Filters are the most powerful feature of Segments. They are how you narrow down the subscribers in a specific Segment in order to target only who you’re looking for.

Segment filters can be combined with the logical “AND” and “OR” operators. These logical operators allow you to make a segment that contains customers who match a plethora of use cases, such as “Subscribers who match Filter X AND Filter Y”, or “Subscribers who match Filter A OR Filter B”.

In the following example, we’re going to target “Subscribers who have received Campaign X and have placed an order more than once”

You can make abundantly complex combinations of filters in order to target the exact Subscribers that you wish.
